This artwork by Patrick Caulfield achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in December last year. In the Sir Terence ConranThe Contents of Barton Court auction, the work 10 Chairs 'Designed' Blind each 19.5 x 14.5cm (7 11/16 x 5 11/16in) sold for GBP 7,650.00 (€ 8,636.10) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Patrick Caulfield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Foyer in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 665,000.00 (€ 784,634.62).
