Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Drinker by Nigel Cooke was sold in the Phillips x Artsy: Endless Summer auction at Phillips in an online auction in September 2020. The price achieved of USD 5,938.00 (€ 5,067.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nigel Cooke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Stumpy'S Night in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 262,000.00 (€ 238,311.81).
