The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,145.00 (€ 12,240.43), 31% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolas Mignard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venus And Adonis in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 233,000.00 (€ 172,592.59).

Im Januar 2003 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century Drawings including Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Studies of legs, a drapery and the head of a putto (recto); Studies of arms and a head (verso) von Nicolas Mignard zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 13.145,00 (€ 12.240,43) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicolas Mignard erzielen.
