The work Villagers dancing by a gatehouse, an aqueduct beyond by Nicolas-Antoine Taunay was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Christies in New York in October 2000. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,525.00 (€ 4,153.90). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolas-Antoine Taunay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vente Aux Enchères De Tableaux Sur La Place D'Un Villagenicolas-Antoine Taunay ; An Open-Air Auction In A Town Square ; Oil On Canvas in June 2011 with an auction result of EUR 132,750.00.
