Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hibiscus, parrot tulips, carnations, a rose, an iris, snowballs and other flowers in a vase on a partially draped stone ledge, with a garden tiger moth by Nicolaes van Verendael was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2014. The price achieved of GBP 92,500.00 (€ 116,671.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicolaes van Verendael - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Blumenstrauß mit Rosen, Tulpe, Hibiskus und Brombeeren, which sold at auction in November 2018 for EUR 362,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Hibiscus, parrot tulips, carnations, a rose, an iris, snowballs and other flowers in a vase on a partially draped stone ledge, with a garden tiger moth von Nicolaes van Verendael kam im Juli 2014 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 92.500,00 (€ 116.671,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Nicolaes van Verendael mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Blumenstrauß mit Rosen, Tulpe, Hibiskus und Brombeeren beobachtet, die im November 2018 für EUR 362.500,00 versteigert wurde.
