Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art | and CCA Lagos Benefit Auction, which included the work Pharmacie by Monsengwo Kejwamfi. The price achieved of GBP 2,394.00 (€ 2,838.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Monsengwo Kejwamfi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans Titre - 1987 in December 2017 with an auction result of EUR 28,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art | and CCA Lagos Benefit Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pharmacie von Monsengwo Kejwamfi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.394,00 (€ 2.838,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Monsengwo Kejwamfi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sans Titre - 1987 im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 28.600,00.
