The work Ceres on a chariot drawn by serpents; and Persephone on a chariot drawn by putti with flaming torches by Michelangelo Maestri was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2012. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,699.83) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Michelangelo Maestri have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Personifications of eleven hours of the day and night in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 16,450.00 (€ 28,161.73).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Ceres on a chariot drawn by serpents; and Persephone on a chariot drawn by putti with flaming torches von Michelangelo Maestri kam im Dezember 2012 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.699,83) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michelangelo Maestri auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Personifications of eleven hours of the day and night im April 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.450,00 (€ 28.161,73).
