Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings Day Sale, which included the work A Subject Taken From Ancient History, Traditionally Thought To Represent The Death Of Seneca by Martin Drölling. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 16,985.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Drölling achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vue Des Jardins de La Villa Médicis in June 2006 with an auction result of EUR 258,400.00.
