Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction The Greek Sale, which included the work Greek House And Figures By The Sea by Michalis Economou. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 70,100.00 (€ 98,158.14), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michalis Economou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Along The Shore, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 198,000.00 (€ 291,370.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Greek Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Greek House And Figures By The Sea von Michalis Economou zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 70.100,00 (€ 98.158,14) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Michalis Economou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Along The Shore beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 198.000,00 (€ 291.370,40) versteigert wurde.
