The work Mountain landscape by Maurice Wilks was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in October 2008. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,274.64) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurice Wilks achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Turf Gatherer in March 2011 with an auction result of GBP 24,375.00 (€ 27,580.20).

Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.274,64) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maurice Wilks erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Turf Gatherer im März 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.375,00 (€ 27.580,20).
