Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Ballyconneely, Connemara by Maurice Wilks for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,752.63). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurice Wilks achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Turf Gatherer in March 2011 with an auction result of GBP 24,375.00 (€ 27,580.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Ballyconneely, Connemara von Maurice Wilks für GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.752,63) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maurice Wilks erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Turf Gatherer im März 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.375,00 (€ 27.580,20).
