This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist & Modern Art at Bonhams in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Maurits Cornelis Escher have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Reptiles (Bool 327) in April last year with an auction result of USD 756,000.00 (€ 717,471.77).

Die Arbeit Siena von Maurits Cornelis Escher war einem Käufer im November diesen Jahres USD 91.940,00 (€ 84.286,76) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maurits Cornelis Escher auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Reptiles (Bool 327) im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 756.000,00 (€ 717.471,77).
