Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Adrian Ludwig Richter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2003. In the Old Master and 19th Century Drawings auction, the work A shepherd and shepherdess with their flock in an extensive mountainous landscape; and Cattle and herdsmen on a road, ruins beyond, after Jan Both sold for GBP 11,352.50 (€ 14,838.48) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 4,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adrian Ludwig Richter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Am Brunnen bei Grottaferrara in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 181,250.00 (€ 217,932.70).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Adrian Ludwig Richter erzielte im Juli 2003 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings wurde die Arbeit A shepherd and shepherdess with their flock in an extensive mountainous landscape; and Cattle and herdsmen on a road, ruins beyond, after Jan Both für GBP 11.352,50 (€ 14.838,48) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 4.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adrian Ludwig Richter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Am Brunnen bei Grottaferrara im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 181.250,00 (€ 217.932,70).
