This price was achieved in the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS DRAWINGS AND COPIES AFTER OLD MASTERS at Christies in Amsterdam and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of NLG 1,500.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis van Soest - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Atmospheric Winters Day, which sold at auction in April 2004 for EUR 7,767.50.
