Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2000 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS DRAWINGS AND COPIES AFTER OLD MASTERS, which included the work A watermill in winter by Louis van Soest. The price achieved of NLG 1,287.22 (€ 593.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis van Soest achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Atmospheric Winters Day in April 2004 with an auction result of EUR 7,767.50.

Im September 2000 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS DRAWINGS AND COPIES AFTER OLD MASTERS durch, in der auch die Arbeit A watermill in winter von Louis van Soest zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von NLG 1.287,22 (€ 593,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit NLG 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis van Soest erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Atmospheric Winters Day im April 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 7.767,50.
