Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A village scene in winter by Louis van Soest was sold in the PICTURES WATERCOLOURS DRAWINGS AND COPIES AFTER OLD MASTERS auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2000. The price achieved of NLG 1,170.20 (€ 539.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis van Soest achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Atmospheric Winters Day in April 2004 with an auction result of EUR 7,767.50.

Der dabei erzielte Preis von NLG 1.170,20 (€ 539,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit NLG 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden.
