Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Porteur (Al-Hammal) by Louay Kayyali for GBP 45,000.00 (€ 52,938.22). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louay Kayyali - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Cake (Kaak) Seller, which sold at auction in June 2020 for GBP 137,562.00 (€ 151,500.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Porteur (Al-Hammal) von Louay Kayyali für GBP 45.000,00 (€ 52.938,22) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Louay Kayyali mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Cake (Kaak) Seller beobachtet, die im Juni 2020 für GBP 137.562,00 (€ 151.500,70) versteigert wurde.
