Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Girl with the Black Cat by Louay Kayyali for GBP 19,125.00 (€ 22,498.74). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Louay Kayyali have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Cake (Kaak) Seller in June 2020 with an auction result of GBP 137,562.00 (€ 151,500.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Girl with the Black Cat von Louay Kayyali für GBP 19.125,00 (€ 22.498,74) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louay Kayyali auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Cake (Kaak) Seller im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 137.562,00 (€ 151.500,70).
