This artwork by Louay Kayyali achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in April 2013. In the Modern and Contemporary Arab,Iranian and Turkish Art Part II auction, the work Al Na'Ma Raqam (2) (The Sleeping Lady Number (2)) sold for USD 75,000.00 (€ 56,956.26) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louay Kayyali - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Cake (Kaak) Seller, which sold at auction in June 2020 for GBP 137,562.00 (€ 151,500.70).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Louay Kayyali erzielte im April 2013 bei Christies in Dubai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Arab,Iranian and Turkish Art Part II wurde die Arbeit Al Na'Ma Raqam (2) (The Sleeping Lady Number (2)) für USD 75.000,00 (€ 56.956,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Louay Kayyali mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Cake (Kaak) Seller beobachtet, die im Juni 2020 für GBP 137.562,00 (€ 151.500,70) versteigert wurde.
