Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Young Visitors by Lorenzo Quaglio was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 7,937.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lorenzo Quaglio - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Besuch auf der Alm., which sold at auction in October 2012 for EUR 18,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Young Visitors von Lorenzo Quaglio kam im Juni 2008 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 7.937,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Lorenzo Quaglio mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Besuch auf der Alm. beobachtet, die im Oktober 2012 für EUR 18.750,00 versteigert wurde.
