Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Room of the Sea by Liu Ye was sold in the 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. It changed hands for a price of HKD 14,290,000.00 (€ 1,712,814.91) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 8,000,000.00 – 15,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Ye - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Smoke, which sold at auction in October 2019 for HKD 52,182,000.00 (€ 5,964,325.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Room of the Sea von Liu Ye wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 14.290.000,00 (€ 1.712.814,91) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 8.000.000,00 – 15.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Ye mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Smoke beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für HKD 52.182.000,00 (€ 5.964.325,41) versteigert wurde.
