This artwork by Liu Ye achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2019. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session auction, the work Miffy and Mondrian sold for HKD 875,000.00 (€ 101,483.80) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Ye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Smoke in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 52,182,000.00 (€ 5,964,325.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Liu Ye erzielte im November 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Miffy and Mondrian für HKD 875.000,00 (€ 101.483,80) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Ye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Smoke im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 52.182.000,00 (€ 5.964.325,41).
