Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Artist Self-Portrait by Liu Ye was sold in the Faces of New China: An Important Private Collection (Evening Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 8,000,000.00 – 12,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 8,420,000.00 (€ 805,511.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Liu Ye have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Smoke in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 52,182,000.00 (€ 5,964,325.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Artist Self-Portrait von Liu Ye wurde im November 2011 in der Auktion Faces of New China: An Important Private Collection (Evening Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 8.000.000,00 – 12.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 8.420.000,00 (€ 805.511,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Ye auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Smoke im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 52.182.000,00 (€ 5.964.325,41).
