Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shophouses By The River by Lim Tze Peng was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 320,000.00 – 550,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 375,000.00 (€ 41,273.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lim Tze Peng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Singapore River Scene, which sold at auction in December 2021 for HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 141,588.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Shophouses By The River von Lim Tze Peng kam im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 320.000,00 – 550.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 375.000,00 (€ 41.273,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Lim Tze Peng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Singapore River Scene beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 141.588,62) versteigert wurde.
