This artwork by Li Kuchan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Cologne in May this year. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Cherry and Loquat sold for HKD 441,000.00 (€ 52,858.74) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Kuchan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Egret by Lotus, which sold at auction in October 2021 for HKD 1,512,000.00 (€ 168,189.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Li Kuchan erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Köln einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Cherry and Loquat für HKD 441.000,00 (€ 52.858,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Kuchan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Egret by Lotus beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für HKD 1.512.000,00 (€ 168.189,06) versteigert wurde.
