Auction result well in line with expectations
The work German the Water Carriers by Leopold Carl Müller was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in May 2011. The price achieved of GBP 229,250.00 (€ 262,148.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Leopold Carl Müller have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work German An Almée'S Admirers (Egyptische Tänzerin) in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,301,450.88).
