Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art including Important British Paintings, which included the work Austrian A Street Scene, Cairo by Leopold Carl Müller. Here, the upper estimate of USD 800,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 866,500.00 (€ 587,258.56). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leopold Carl Müller - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work German An Almée'S Admirers (Egyptische Tänzerin), which sold at auction in October 2008 for USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,301,450.88).
