This artwork by Carl Wilhelm Götzloff achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2015. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work The eruption of Vesuvius, 1 May 1855 sold for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 15,448.84) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Wilhelm Götzloff - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work „Castel dell'Ovo“., which sold at auction in June 2015 for EUR 43,750.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carl Wilhelm Götzloff erzielte im April 2015 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art wurde die Arbeit The eruption of Vesuvius, 1 May 1855 für GBP 11.250,00 (€ 15.448,84) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Carl Wilhelm Götzloff mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit „Castel dell'Ovo“. beobachtet, die im Juni 2015 für EUR 43.750,00 versteigert wurde.
