In April 2007 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Pictures and Old Master Drawings, which included the work Three studies for the Bilderbibel: Moses and Aaron before Pharaoh; The Parable of the Lost Sheep; and The three Maries discover the empty tomb by Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,513.91), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Besiegung Wittekinds bei Bürberg in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 42,300.00 (€ 67,050.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im April 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Pictures and Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three studies for the Bilderbibel: Moses and Aaron before Pharaoh; The Parable of the Lost Sheep; and The three Maries discover the empty tomb von Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld zur Versteigerung kam.
