In April 2000 Christies in London held the auction Impressionist and 19th Century Art, which included the work Kittens enjoying spilt milk by Jules LeRoy. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,700.00 (€ 8,046.21), 57% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jules LeRoy; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Kittens In A Sewing Box sold at auction in July 2001 with the realized price of GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,480.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 57 % übertroffen
Im April 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion Impressionist and 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kittens enjoying spilt milk von Jules LeRoy zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.700,00 (€ 8.046,21) und damit 57% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jules LeRoy; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Kittens In A Sewing Box im Juli 2001 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 7.050,00 (€ 11.480,42).
