In October 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Perching By The Grasshoppers by Ju Chao. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 162,500.00 (€ 17,885.04), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ju Chao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flowers in October last year with an auction result of HKD 960,000.00 (€ 123,019.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Perching By The Grasshoppers von Ju Chao zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 162.500,00 (€ 17.885,04) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ju Chao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flowers im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 960.000,00 (€ 123.019,93).
