Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seamus Heaney Photographed At West Cork Literary Festival, Bantry, Co. Cork by John Minihan was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2006. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,689.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Minihan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Francis Bacon, Paris, 1977 in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 14,357.77).
