Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Samuel Beckett Photographed In Room 604, The Hyde Park Hotel, London by John Minihan was sold in the Post War and Contemporary Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2006. The price achieved of GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,378.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Minihan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Francis Bacon, Paris, 1977, which sold at auction in November 2008 for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 14,357.77).
