Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mapala, c. 1930 by John Melville Kelly was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August this year. The price achieved of USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,771.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Melville Kelly - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kaonohi, c. 1920, which sold at auction in August this year for USD 5,760.00 (€ 5,314.14).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.920,00 (€ 1.771,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden.
