In October this year Bonhams in Paris held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Yachts, 1927 by John Duncan Fergusson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 152,800.00 (€ 175,456.85), 27% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John Duncan Fergusson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Submarines and Camouflaged Battleship in March this year with an auction result of GBP 1,074,000.00 (€ 1,221,882.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Paris die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Yachts, 1927 von John Duncan Fergusson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 152.800,00 (€ 175.456,85) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Duncan Fergusson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Submarines and Camouflaged Battleship im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.074.000,00 (€ 1.221.882,45).
