Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On the Terrace by John Duncan Fergusson was auctioned at Bonhams in Paris in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,120.00 (€ 5,879.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Duncan Fergusson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Submarines and Camouflaged Battleship in March this year with an auction result of GBP 1,074,000.00 (€ 1,221,882.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit On the Terrace von John Duncan Fergusson kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Paris zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.120,00 (€ 5.879,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Duncan Fergusson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Submarines and Camouflaged Battleship im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.074.000,00 (€ 1.221.882,45).
