Upper estimate price exceeded by 36 %.
In July last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Sunset by John Bellany. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,080.00 (€ 4,872.24), 36% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Bellany achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fishermen In The Snow in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 106,250.00 (€ 125,364.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 36 % übertroffen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunset von John Bellany zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.080,00 (€ 4.872,24) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Bellany erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fishermen In The Snow im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 106.250,00 (€ 125.364,55).
