This artwork by Jef Verheyen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in April 2018. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work without title sold for EUR 40,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jef Verheyen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Essentie Ii (Essence Ii) in May 2019 with an auction result of EUR 162,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jef Verheyen erzielte im April 2018 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für EUR 40.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jef Verheyen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Essentie Ii (Essence Ii) im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 162.500,00.
