Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Saint-Anthon by Jean-Paul Riopelle was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 20,000,000.00 – 40,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 24,575,000.00 (€ 2,945,586.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Jean-Paul Riopelle have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2017 the work Sans Titre was auctioned for EUR 4,882,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Saint-Anthon von Jean-Paul Riopelle kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000.000,00 – 40.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 24.575.000,00 (€ 2.945.586,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Jean-Paul Riopelle konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Dezember 2017 die Arbeit Sans Titre für EUR 4.882.500,00 versteigert.
