This artwork by Jean Messagier achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in June last year. In the Art Contemporain Day Auction auction, the work Labours à ciel sold for EUR 40,320.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 18,000.00. This high result makes Labours à ciel the most expensive artwork by Jean Messagier that we have observed at auctions so far.
