Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings, which included the work The Plaza de la Provincia, Madrid, with a crowd watching an elegant couple dance, a fountain emblazoned with the Royal Arms of Spain and the dome of the Church of San Isidro seen beyond by Jean Démosthène Dugourc. The price achieved of USD 14,400.00 (€ 11,035.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 16,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Démosthène Dugourc - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Festival Of The Federation, 1790, which sold at auction in January 2015 for USD 46,875.00 (€ 41,519.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Plaza de la Provincia, Madrid, with a crowd watching an elegant couple dance, a fountain emblazoned with the Royal Arms of Spain and the dome of the Church of San Isidro seen beyond von Jean Démosthène Dugourc zur Versteigerung kam.
