Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Man; Division No. 4 And Nude From Behind: Three Works by Jared French was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,833.85). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jared French achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Double in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,071,000.00 (€ 998,043.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Man; Division No. 4 And Nude From Behind: Three Works von Jared French im September 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.833,85) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jared French erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Double im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.071.000,00 (€ 998.043,05).
