Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Butterflies, a garden tiger moth and other insects with currants; and Bees, a butterfly, beetles and other insects with sweet peas by Jan van Kessel I. The price achieved of GBP 368,750.00 (€ 413,449.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Other works by Jan van Kessel I have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2014 the work Garden And House Spiders With Grass Snakes And Caterpillars Contorted And Entwined To Spell The Artist'S Name; A Sprig Of Redcurrants With An Elephant Hawk Moth, A Ladybird, A Millipede And Other Insects was auctioned for GBP 542,500.00 (€ 698,377.41).

Im Juli 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Butterflies, a garden tiger moth and other insects with currants; and Bees, a butterfly, beetles and other insects with sweet peas von Jan van Kessel I zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 368.750,00 (€ 413.449,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden.
