Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Les deux Pantalons by Jacques Callot was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century Prints auction at Christies in New York in January this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,638.00 (€ 1,508.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques Callot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fair At Gondreville, Or Mayday Celebrations At Xeuilley in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 288,000.00 (€ 427,746.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Les deux Pantalons von Jacques Callot wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Prints bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.638,00 (€ 1.508,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacques Callot erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Fair At Gondreville, Or Mayday Celebrations At Xeuilley im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 288.000,00 (€ 427.746,48).
