Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Study of a women's head by Jens Ferdinand Willumsen was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in January 2024, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of DKK 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 2,600.00 (€ 2,272.33). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jens Ferdinand Willumsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Horserider in the streets of Cordoba in June this year with an auction result of DKK 875,000.00 (€ 117,467.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Study of a women's head von Jens Ferdinand Willumsen im Januar 2024 bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von DKK 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 2.600,00 (€ 2.272,33) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jens Ferdinand Willumsen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Horserider in the streets of Cordoba im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von DKK 875.000,00 (€ 117.467,95).
