In September 2007 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work An Oriental Streetscene by Isidorus van Mens. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 3,750.00 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Isidorus van Mens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Souk À Marrakech in November 2014 with an auction result of EUR 19,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im September 2007 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Oriental Streetscene von Isidorus van Mens zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 3.750,00 und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Isidorus van Mens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Souk À Marrakech im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 19.500,00.
