Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A Hermit praying in the ruins of a Roman temple by Hubert Robert was sold in the Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries auction at Sothebys in New York in January last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 22,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 22,680.00 (€ 20,228.33). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hubert Robert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Colonnade Et Jardins du Palais Médici: Gentlemen Sketching In An Italianate Garden; And Restes du Palais du Pape Jules: An Architectural Capriccio With Haymakers in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 3,368,000.00 (€ 4,930,357.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A Hermit praying in the ruins of a Roman temple von Hubert Robert wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 22.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 22.680,00 (€ 20.228,33) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hubert Robert erzielen.
