Auction result misses estimated price range
In December this year a collector was able to acquire the work Mount Emei by Huang Junbi for HKD 50,400.00 (€ 5,831.86). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Huang Junbi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lofty Mountains Amidst Clouds in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 5,020,000.00 (€ 552,510.30).
