This artwork by Hu Gongshou achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Taihu Scholar Rock sold for HKD 52,500.00 (€ 5,925.55) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hu Gongshou have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Journey Into The Mountains in October 2015 with an auction result of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 51,111.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hu Gongshou erzielte im November 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Taihu Scholar Rock für HKD 52.500,00 (€ 5.925,55) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hu Gongshou auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Journey Into The Mountains im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 51.111,66).
