Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Plum Blossoms And Rock by Hu Gongshou. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 107,100.00 (€ 11,466.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Hu Gongshou have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Journey Into The Mountains in October 2015 with an auction result of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 51,111.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Plum Blossoms And Rock von Hu Gongshou zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 107.100,00 (€ 11.466,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hu Gongshou auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Journey Into The Mountains im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 51.111,66).
